What to Know God.....Here are the directions (1 John 2:2-11)

The Only Way to Know We're in Him
2-3Here's how we can be sure that we know God in the right way: Keep his commandments.
4-6If someone claims, "I know him well!" but doesn't keep his commandments, he's obviously a liar. His life doesn't match his words. But the one who keeps God's word is the person in whom we see God's mature love. This is the only way to be sure we're in God. Anyone who claims to be intimate with God ought to live the same kind of life Jesus lived.
7-8My dear friends, I'm not writing anything new here. This is the oldest commandment in the book, and you've known it from day one. It's always been implicit in the Message you've heard. On the other hand, perhaps it is new, freshly minted as it is in both Christ and you—the darkness on its way out and the True Light already blazing!
9-11Anyone who claims to live in God's light and hates a brother or sister is still in the dark. It's the person who loves brother and sister who dwells in God's light and doesn't block the light from others. But whoever hates is still in the dark, stumbles around in the dark, doesn't know which end is up, blinded by the darkness.

What you give, is not what you get....you get more

Jesus went on: "Does anyone bring a lamp home and put it under a washtub or beneath the bed? Don't you put it up on a table or on the mantel? We're not keeping secrets, we're telling them; we're not hiding things, we're bringing them out into the open.
23"Are you listening to this? Really listening?
24-25"Listen carefully to what I am saying—and be wary of the shrewd advice that tells you how to get ahead in the world on your own. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity. Stinginess impoverishes."

I understand that we all need to save money, or be good time managers. But giving of money and time and whatever else you have to give, will only bring you more, and open up doors you never knew where there. Be Blessed today!!!

Pray with Simplicity

Pray with Simplicity (Matt 6:18 msg)
5"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat?
6"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.
7-13"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:

   Our Father in heaven,
   Reveal who you are.
   Set the world right;
Do what's best— as above, so below.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.
   You're in charge!
You can do anything you want!
   You're ablaze in beauty!
      Yes. Yes. Yes.
14-15"In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can't get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God's part.
16-18"When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don't make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won't make you a saint. If you 'go into training' inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well.

Humble Before God

"The pride of your heart has deceived you …. Though you mount on high as the eagle and though you set your nest among the stars, I will bring you down from there, says the Lord" (Obadiah 1:3, 4,AMP).
A prideful person thinks they’re above God. Although pride may momentarily exalt, the end of pride is a tumultuous downfall. Divest yourself of pride by humbling yourself before God.

ThE MuSiC

I make music. I have fun making music. I call it GLORY MUSIC. The music I make gives God glory for what he has done, what he is doing, and what he is going to to. Later today I will post some of this, GLORY MUSIC. IF you like it, keep playing it, and share it. If you dont, press stop. And keep coming back for the Devo.

God's Holy Name

Read: Leviticus 22:1-8 (Message Bible)

Get comfortable. Take time to clear your mind, then focus activity. Read the above passage. Now read it once more, aloud.

Think:

As you read God's statement about himself and about the priests, what is your reaction? Notice weather you are toward God as you read or repelled from God.

Pray:

Silently pray the passage. Praying in your own words by responding to what your're reading is okay at first. But as you continue, use the words of the passage as your prayer.

LIVE:

Use this silent time simply to rest in the presence of the holy God who has just made himself know to you. Let go of your own words and let yourself enjoy the experience.
